James Strothman and his wife hoodwinked U.S. officials into allowing nine Chinese nationals to enter the United States illegally, a federal indictment charges.

James and Sharon Strothman were among four people, including one other person from Colorado, who were indicted in the alleged scheme in federal court in Denver.

The complaint filed by the U.S. Justice Department alleges that the Strothmans, Gaylon Dahn, vice president of the Denver campus of National American University from 1995 to 1998, and Scott Huger of Texas, an admissions representative for the university, conspired to offer phony scholarships to the Chinese nationals.

My wife went and did the income tax without me taking all our return money and filed for a divorce and will not give me my part. A Colorado couple have been indicted on federal charges of illegally bringing Chinese nationals to the United States. -- James and Sharon Strothman are accused of collecting nearly $6 million from Chinese families to facilitate the illegal entries from 1996 to 2000. -- Sharon Strothman is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in the People's Republic of China, according to the indictment filed Dec. 4 in Denver U.S. District Court.
