*Beware* of Candace Schieber, also using the name Candace Hillebrandt. She is a sly, cunning, financial predator. She is a con artist, a master swindler. She has no integrity. Her promises are meaningless and her notarized promissory notes are worthless. I know, I have experienced her.

Candace and I lived together in KY and NC for three years from 2006 until 2009. She seemed to be the sweetest most loving woman I ever met. I thought she was my best friend. We lived together then became engaged. I expected her to be my wife. I truly loved her and wanted to do anything to help her. It wasn't until later that I discovered her dark side.

After about 1 year she started borrowing large sums of money from me. Telling me she needed to pay her ex-husband because of a divorce settlement and that she would pay me back. She wrote me a notarized promissory note. I let her put the money on my credit card. She then started writing out courtesy checks for thousands and thousands of dollars more. I did not find out about that until after the bank called me with a “fraud alert”. Soon after she maxed out the credit card account she needed more money to settle a wage dispute with her current employer. I loaned her money for that too.

She did make a few payments on the credit card, just long enough to borrow pretty much most of my savings account too. She never paid anything back to my savings account then in October 2009 she stopped paying on the credit card and went directly to a lawyer and filed bankruptcy on me, (Case 09-52530, debts discharged on 3/18/10)telling me she would still pay me back. I later discovered the money from the credit card went to her “significant gambling addiction”, not her ex-husband, and the money from my savings account went to pay back the money she had to return to her employer because she was caught using the Corporate Credit card for cash advances at the Casino ATM and had to pay them back. Altogether she swindled me for over $58,000.00. I can only imagine what would have happen if we were married. I would have lost everything I own.

Candace is very cunning, she constantly tells you how much she loves you, that she would never do anything “illegal, immoral or unethical”. That she wants to marry and plays the role of a devout Christian, all the while swindling me out of my money. Now I am stuck with a depleted savings account and her credit card debt that will take me years to pay off. It’s been a year, and although she knows I am unemployed because of company cut backs, and I am in a financial crisis because of her credit card payments, she has not helped me in any way, made no apology, no attempt to make amends, no remorse. I have left her voice mail asking that she tell me why she did this to us and help me with “closure” but she does not return my calls, either she has no conscience or she is a coward and does not want to face up to her wrong doings. I have spoke with her ex-husband he has had a similar experience. *Beware* Candace Schieber/Hillebrandt is a cold, calculating financial predator. She is deceiving and very convincingly plays the role of a devout church attending Christian. However she does not live the life of a Christian nor a Believer. I thank God that I never married her I would have lost everything I own.
