Description:
This person who call himself a mechanic, took my car to fix the engine; charged me $1,450.00 and he never fix it. He had it for three months in his house and call me frequently asking for money for parts and labor after all that time calling and going to his house to see if the car was ready; he never installed the new engine or fix the car. I went to the courthouse to see if can do something because this person has no shop, he works on his garage, so that makes the situation more difficult. Plus if I want to pursuit this case I got to put more money; money that I dont have. I hace receipts of the money that I gave him for the parts , labors and tow truck.

I had a similar problem like this a couple years back, while you're probably going to have a time proving that this guy was negligent in doing what he said he was going to do, one other thing you might do is pick up a copy of your local county newspaper and if there is an opinion section post an ad in your local paper asking people in your area if they have had dealings with this man and how they went or you can post flyers around the area of where this man works on his cars and see what responses you get from people. Chances are you aren't the only one. I've learned the measure of a good mechanic is by how many recent/newer cars he has parked out front waiting for him to be fixed, it shows a good reputation over time otherwise he wouldn't have so much business. Just use good judgement.
