A family friend, Robert, needed money to open a business in Romania. Our agreement was no matter how his business went he will pay me back within a couple of years. I gave him the money from my equity line and he has never paid it back. I was going to sue him in February 2010 and his mom told me if I take about half the loss she will pay me 15K. She made 2 payments of $1,000 and stopped. I have written agreements with both the mother and son, I just don't know if I can sue the mom 1st. She has more assets. In early 2010 I went through a divorce, lost my job (working now), might need to file for Bankruptcy and I am close to foreclosure on my house. The money Robert owes me sure would come in handy. I would be happy getting even 1/2. I just don't want to him to think he can get away with it. By the way Robert has 4 cars, go figure.
